Where two drywall boards intersect, a drywall corner bead is an angled piece of trim that is put along the length of the exterior wall. Corner beads are used in drywall finishing for two purposes: first, to support and strengthen corners, and second, to conceal the visible seam between the two different drywall boards and provide a seamless 90-degree angle.
Installing the USG Beadex® paper-faced metal corner bead is 40% quicker than using a standard metal bead. The projects with USG Beadex® that were completed showed that the crew was more productive and needed less joint compound for the portion of the project with paper faced metal beads, which resulted in significant labor cost savings. Additionally, there is no chance of corner cracks because USG Beadex® paper faced metal bead does not require nails or screws. This means that by using USG ME Beadex® Drywall, you can save money on installation and callbacks in addition to saving time.
