USG Sheetrock® Brand Firecode® Type C Panels come in thicknesses of 12.7 mm and 15.9 mm and have a specially formulated mineral core that offers enhanced fire protection for ceiling installations. In order to create a high strength composite design, these panels have a noncombustible gypsum core that is wrapped in 100% recycled face and back papers.
The long sides of the natural finish face paper are folded over to strengthen and shield the core, and the ends are squared off and evenly cut. Because the long edges of the panels are tapered, USG Sheetrock® Brand joint treatment technologies can be used to reinforce and conceal joints. The panels can be utilized in any UL Design that lists Type C panels because they are UL Classified for fire resistance.
