USG ME Brand Fire Moisture Resistant (FMR) Gypsum Board is a factory-produced unique panel that combines the water- and fire-resistance of wet area and fire rated boards in a typical broad 1200mm size. The boards are made of a glass-fiber reinforced gypsum core that is non-combustible, blended with specific additives, and covered in a thick natural finish paper on the face side and a sturdy liner paper on the back side. To strengthen and safeguard the core, the face paper is folded around the long edges. The ends are square-cut and smooth-finished. Long edges of panels are recessed (tapered), allowing joints to be strengthened and covered with jointing compounds under the USG Middle East sheetrock® brand.
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions when priming and decorating with paint, texture, or wallcovering. All surfaces, including those to which USG Middle East Sheetrock® Brand All Purpose Joint Compound has been applied, need to be completely dry, dust-free, and matte. Before decorating when a Level 5 finish is required, a prime coat of Sheetrock® Tuff-Hide Primer-Surfacer should be applied and allowed to dry. Gypsum panel surfaces should be skim-coated with USG All Purpose Joint Compound or primed with Sheetrock® Tuff-Hide Primer-Surfacer to equalize suction before painting in order to improve fastener concealment where gypsum panel walls and ceilings will be exposed to strong artificial or natural side lighting and/or decorated with a gloss paint (eggshell, semi gloss, or gloss).
