USG ME Brand Fire Rated (FR) Gypsum Board is a factory-produced, 1200mm wide custom panel for applications requiring fire resistance. The boards are made of non-combustible glass-fiber reinforced gypsum blended with specific additives, covered in a thick, natural-finish paper on the front side, and a sturdy liner paper on the reverse. To strengthen and safeguard the core, the face paper is folded around the long edges. The ends are square-cut and smooth-finished. Long edges of panels are recessed (tapered), allowing joints to be strengthened and covered with jointing compounds under the USG Middle East sheetrock® brand.
Follow the instructions for the specific products you're using while priming and decorating with paint, texture, or wallcovering. All surfaces must be completely dry, dust-free, and matte before USG Middle East Sheetrock® Brand All Purpose Joint Compound is applied. When a Level 5 finish is desired, a prime layer of Sheetrock® Tuff-Hide Primer-Surfacer should be applied and let to dry before decorating. Gypsum panel surfaces should be skim-coated with USG All Purpose Joint Compound or primed with Sheetrock® Tuff-Hide Primer-Surfacer to equalize suction before painting in order to improve fastener concealment in areas where gypsum panel walls and ceilings will be decorated with a gloss paint (eggshell, semi gloss, or gloss) and/or exposed to strong artificial or natural side lighting.
